Somewhere last year, the Samsung foldable smartphone (Samsung Galaxy Fold) was unveiled by the company and was expected to be released this early year. The Samsung Galaxy Fold which was expected to be released in April was halt after some test conducted with the unit sent out for reviews was found with some few faults. The company halts its decision to release the new galaxy fold in the aforesaid date.
some handfull of faults were detected with the new Galaxy fold. According to those running hands-on reviews on the phone, the main issue was the Brocken screen which occurred as a result of folding the phone.
It looks like the screen cannot withstand the fold and this has called for a second look at the device by Samsung. Now it seems the fault has been rectified and the new release date is set out.
Latest development concerning the issues faced by the new Galaxy Fold shows that the company has fixed the problem and its set to release the new device to the mobile market in September this year.
According to Samsung, they have taken their time to fully evaluate the product design, make necessary improvements and run rigorous tests to validate the changes made.
Although the company said the device will be available to the market in September, there wasn’t any actual date of release.
Some of the Areas that Needed attention in the Galaxy Gold were:
- The top protective layer of the Infinity Flex Display has been stretched beyond the bezel making it removable.
- Top and bottom of the hinge area appear to have gaping space at the side after folding that can easily allow dirt in.
- Underneath the Infinity Flex Display appears not to be properly done, this can trick people to think the layer is also removable.
Samsung said they have fixed all these issues and make necessary improvements with vigorous tests to validate the changes. Meanwhile, the galaxy fold has some distinct features that are worth mentioning. Some of the features that are expected to be seen are:
The Galaxy Fold can be open outwards and folds inwards just like you open a book. It is a 4.6-inch smartphone on a normal stand, but 7.3-inch tablet when opened
The main display is QXGA+ resolution (4.2:3), but when it’s folded it is switched to the smaller 4.6-inch HD+ (12:9) display.
The Galaxy Fold comes with 6 cameras with a hole-punch style of selfie camera.
At the rear side, it holds a triple camera system of 16-megapixel ultra-wide camera, 12-megapixel wide-angle and a 12-megapixel telephoto camera.
Two cameras are found on the inside when it’s in tablet mode, and one on the front when it’s folded.
The Galaxy Fold has the ability to run up to 3 apps all at a go. This means you can easily open three apps and use each concurrent without hindrance.
According to the source, the Galaxy Fold has two in-built batteries. These batteries are separated by the fold but in the Android system, they are combined to give a capacity of 4380 mAh.
