How to Register/Update Your MTN SIM Card – New Guide 2021

Somewhere last year, the communication Minister made mentioned that all users of SIM Cards will have to re-register/update their details in the coming years or else stand the chance of losing their numbers.

After such pronouncement, many have been looking for a way to register/update their cards with ease.

In other to make things easier for these subscribers, Ghana’s giant mobile networks provider, MTN has rolled out a simple and self-to-do online platform to help their subscribers easily update/register their Cards before the due date.

If you’re an MTN mobile subscriber, looking for a way to update your sIM Card, then below are the simple but concise procedures on how to register/update your MTN SIM Card.

Before you can register/update your MTN Ghana SIM, you will need to:

Provide a valid National ID (Voter’s ID, Driver’s License, Ghana Card or Passport), if you are a Citizen of Ghana.
Foreigners are required to provide their National Passport when updating their MTN SIM details.

This feature is available for new and already existing users. All you need to do is to have internet access and visit the MTN SIM Registration Portal.

Connect to the internet and visit the MTN sim registration portal through the link https://simregistrationupdate.mtn.com.gh

On the next page, enter your phone number in the space provided and click on the Request One-Time-Password (OTP) Button. Within some minutes, MTN will send you an OTP code/pin which would be needed to confirm your number.

After the code confirmation, the next page shown will contain spaces for you to provide your personal details.

These include name, date of birth, ID type, ID number, Residential address, Gender, region of residence, ID photo, and Nationality.
